∀ Gundam Ep. 9: Corin Shouts, “It’s a Gundam!”

The Almaiya lands at a Moonrace camp with fresh supplies from the Moon. Also aboard are Eagail and Gozzo mobile suits piloted by Corin Nander and his wingmen, Bruno and Jacop. Corin is a criminal who was recently released from cryogenic stasis and his presence frightens the Moonrace soldiers. While tripping and falling into a ditch, he vows he will find the white mobile suit. Elsewhere, Kihel and Guin read the newspaper article about Laura wanting to be a bridge between Earth people and the Moonrace. Kihel thinks everyone knows the truth about Laura now, but Guin says only a small number of people really know. In Nocis, Loran goes to the Donkey Bakery to speak to Keith, but Belleen tells him Keith is gone. Outside, Loran is approached by Moonrace soldiers and told to come with them. Sochie runs up to Guin and Kihel and tells them Loran has deceived them. She believes it’s an unforgivable sin and doesn’t want a Moonrace person to defend her. Guin tells her that in that case she should learn how to pilot the Turn A herself, which she promises to do. On the Soleil, Loran is taken to meet with Harry. Harry shows him a newspaper and asks if he knows Laura since he is with the Militia. Loran says the Militia is big and that he doesn’t know her. Harry then leaves him locked up in the room alone. Elsewhere, Corin and his men fail to report to duty at a mine the Moonrace is working at. Instead, he stands high on a canyon watching Joseph and Miashei train Kapool pilots. He decides to lure out the Gundam and starts throwing rocks at the Kapools. He transforms his Eagail to running mode and quickly attacks the novice Kapool pirates. He easily beats them along with Miashei. Loran wonders what would happen if he gave the Turn A to the Moonrace, but he thinks if he did that they would crush the Earth people. He doesn’t want that to happen and vows to not let even Dianna have the Turn A. Elsewhere, Keith rides with some Militia soldiers to go see Michael.

Sochie checks out the controls of the Turn A and vows not to let Loran have it. Guin is informed about Corin’s attack and is surprised that Dianna Counter is making the first move. Keith meets with Michael and offers to sell the Flat to him because he wants money to build a big bread factory. Talk of that ends when Michael is informed of the attack. On the Soleil, a soldier complains to Dianna that Corin doesn’t follow orders. She says he has a lot of character and was jailed for that. Harry decides to let Loran go, and Loran tells him he will go find Laura. Guin summons Sochie and tells her he wants her to use the Turn A to investigate the new Dianna Counter mobile suits. Sochie says she will do it despite being unqualified. Kihel sees that she trusted Guin too much. Loran drives around and doesn’t like it either because he thinks Guin is taking advantage of Sochie’s feelings and using her. Corin continues to destroy Militia trucks and uses a loudspeaker to call out for the Gundam. He sees it approaching from the distance and prepares for battle. Sochie is surprised that there are three mobile suits instead of just one. Corin transforms to running mode and attacks the Turn A with his Minchi drill. He can’t believe the Gundam is beaten so easily, and Sochie searches for weapons. A beam saber pops out from behind the Turn A’s shoulder, and Sochie grabs it and aims it at Corin just as he is about to strike with his Minchi drill. He knocks it out of her hands, and Sochie kicks his Eagail. Loran shows up, but Sochie says she won’t let him have the Turn A and passes out. Loran leaves Sochie with Keith and pilots the Turn A. He avoids Corin’s attacks and uses the beam saber to slice the Minchi drill in half. Corin retreats and says he needs to get used to gravity. Loran says he shouldn’t use the beam sabers and hopes Dianna Counter doesn’t declare war.
