Plamo-Kyo Shiro is a manga series released exclusively in Japan from 1982-1986. Written by Hisashi Yasui and illustrated by Koichi Yamato, it was serialized in Comic BomBom magazine. The story focuses on Shiro Kyoda, a young boy who fights in plamo simulation battles using custom Gunpla. Although the manga has never been directly adapted, it inspired the concepts seen in anime like Gunpla Builders, Gundam Build Fighters and Gundam Build Divers. Some of its mecha designs have been reinterpreted for those series.
