During the final match of the 7th Gunpla Battle World Championship, Sei Iori and Reiji faced off against the mind-controlled Meijin Kawaguchi and his PPGN-001 Gundam Exia Dark Matter. Although Sei and Reiji were able to break through the mind control and free the Meijin, the battle was not over. With the large Arista crystal going out of control and activating hordes of Mocks, the Meijin conducted a few field repairs to create the Gundam Amazing Exia Repair. These repairs included replacing the damaged torso with a piece from a stock GN-001 Gundam Exia and fitting a cloak over the damaged left arm. This hastily repaired version was armed only with the Amazing GN Sword and GN Vulcan Guns. Once the threat of the crystal was neutralized, the Meijin further modified his Gunpla into the Gundam Amazing Exia Repair II.
