Technical and Historical Notes

The PPMS-18E Kampfer Amazing was a custom Gunpla built by PPSE and customized by Allan Adams for use by Meijin Kawaguchi the 3rd (aka Tatsuya Yuuki). It was based on the MS-18E Kampfer from the 1989 anime OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. The Kämpfer’s body was customized with improved polycaps, and its armaments were completely overhauled from the original anime version. The Amazing Weapons Binder mounted on the backpack could store multiple weapons, including a minigun, rocket launcher, machine gun and a pistol that could be reconfigured into a rifle/long rifle. During the 7th Gunpla Battle World Championship, the Meijin engaged in a difficult fight against the strategy-minded Renato brothers and their RGM-79K9 GM Sniper K9, but was ultimately victorious. For the tournament finale, the Meijin upgraded to the new PPGN-001 Gundam Amazing Exia. Several years later, the Gunpla was used in battle by the Meijin’s female counterpart, Lady Kawaguchi.
