The Rising
Gundam appears and knocks the Nobel Gundam into the ocean. Master
Asia takes the opportunity to attack and grabs Domon with his beam
cloth. Domon says he's borrowed everyone's strength, and he will
definitely defeat the Devil Gundam. Kyoji appears with the Gundam
Spiegel and cuts Domon free. In the ocean, Allenby knocks Rain around,
and Rain wonders if Allenby is infected with DG cells. Wong watches
and orders Allenby to become 'Devil Allenby'. The Nobel Gundam becomes
encased in a capsule and transforms into the Walter Gundam. Kyoji
fights off Master Asia's attack and tells Domon to destroy the Devil
Gundam. When Domon flies up to the Devil Gundam, the cockpit opens
and he sees a corpselike Kyoji there. While he is distracted, the
Devil Gundam grabs him with its tentacles. Master Asia explains
that the nearly dead Kyoji is the price Domon paid for winning in
the Guyana Highlands. With Kyoji nearly dead, the Devil Gundam is
useless. Master Asia wants Domon to become the Devil Gundam's new
pilot. The Gundam Heads begin to move, and Wong tells Master Asia
that the Devil Gundam can now defeat him. Wong says he is following
Master Asia's advice and destroying all obstacles. Betrayed, Master
Asia fights off the Gundam Heads while Domon and Kyoji escape. In
the water, Rain tries to convince Allenby to stop fighting. She
says Domon is fighting against the Devil Gundam, and Allenby stops.
She says she doesn't want to be left alone because she loves Domon.
Domon asks Kyoji why there are two of him, and he explains he is
a shadow of the real Kyoji, separated in mind and body.
Kyoji explains
that he was created as a copy of the real Kyoji with DG cells to
destroy the Devil Gundam. Domon doesn't believe that since Kyoji
wanted to conquer the galaxy. Kyoji says that is a lie concocted
by Ulube and Dr. Mikamura. He says their father originally
built the Ultimate Gundam to restore Earth to its natural condition.
When Ulube tried to seize it, Kyoji stole it and went to Earth.
However, the Ultimate Gundam's programming was damaged in the crash,
and it seized Kyoji to become the Devil Gundam. Domon realizes that
he's been lied to the past year and was being used to hunt down
the Devil Gundam by Ulube and Dr. Mikamura. Wong listens in
to their sad story and tells Allenby to go to Full Berserker Mode
and destroy the Rising Gundam. Rain sees that Allenby is fighting
against her will, and she locates the berserker signal receiving
module. However, it is located next to the cockpit, so if Rain misses,
she could kill Allenby. The top of the Rising Gundam's shoulders
separate to form a shield, and Rain pulls out her beam bow. She
fires the Rising Arrow at the Walter Gundam and destroys the module,
causing a massive explosion. Wong is angry that Allenby has been
defeated, and he makes the Devil Gundam wildly attack anything.
Master Asia tells Domon that the Devil Gundam requires a Seitai
(Living Body) Unit to function, and Domon damaged it. He wants Domon
to become the new core life unit and explains that he used the Finals
to build up Domon's power. Kyoji decides he will destroy the Devil
Gundam and attacks it. As it destroys the Gundam Spiegel, he jumps
out of it and grabs his other self. He asks Domon to kill him, but
Domon refuses. He begs Domon to end his curse and not let the tragedy
of the Devil Gundam be repeated. Domon understands, and he fires
the Bakunetsu Sekiha Tenkyoken at the Devil Gundam. As Kyoji dies,
his two selves merge into one, and he thanks Domon.
This is
probably the best episode so far in the series. All the details
of the Devil Gundam's past are finally explained, including how
it transformed from the Ultimate Gundam into its present form. There's
also quite a bit of drama when Domon realizes that the android Kyoji
is his real brother. He also sees that the people he trusted, like
Dr. Mikamura, betrayed him. It's quite sad at the end when
Domon realizes what he must do and finally kills Kyoji, who was
actually innocent of any wrongdoing. In other developments, the
long predicted fallout between Master Asia and Wong finally happened.
I knew that at some point Wong would betray Master Asia. Also, it's
revealed in Rain's fight that Allenby loves Domon too. That doesn't
really surprise me, considering the way Allenby acted around him.
The question now is, with Kyoji dead, who will pilot the Devil Gundam?
