Episode 38: The Birth of Queen Relena

In space, OZ forces battle White Fang troops. Wufei interrupts the battle and starts killing people on both sides. He supports neither of them because they are bringing violence that isn't needed in space. Nearby, Noin's shuttle approaches and she launches in a Taurus to talk to Wufei. He remembers her from their encounter at the Lake Victoria base. She asks him to join her and defend the colonies, but he refuses and flies off. Duo and Hilde wonder what will happen to the colonies now that White Fang has appeared. She tells him he can get a job, and her computer search pulls up the natural resource colonies of the Winner family. Duo believes that the resumption of business means that Quatre is back. He heads for the Winner colony and meets up with Quatre. Quatre tells him how he went to the Sanc Kingdom with Heero to learn about pacifism. As Duo leaves, he tells Quatre about seeing Trowa at the circus.

Quatre goes to the circus and breaks down in tears when he sees Trowa. Of course, Trowa does not remember him. Catherine sees Quatre and tells him to leave Trowa alone so that he doesn't suffer anymore. Trowa gets a headache and remembers that he knows Quatre from somewhere. The circus performance begins, and they go back to work. As Quatre and Noin leave the colony, a battle begins between OZ and White Fang next to the colony. As people evacuate the circus, Quatre goes back to find Trowa. Catherine saves Trowa from falling spotlights, and she asks him not to go back to fighting. Quatre leaves to fight off the OZ forces, and Trowa says goodbye to Catherine. Quatre is pleased that Trowa is joining the fight. On Earth, the new Queen Relena gives an announcement. She says that national boundaries cause conflicts, so she is eliminating them. She declares the founding of the World Nation and hopes for peace.

It's a shame that nothing really happens in this episode. I'm getting sick of Wufei and his weirdo morals. He's a madman who shouldn't be running around with a Gundam. There's no point in even trying to get him to cooperate. I must say that Quatre's reaction to seeing Trowa is the most overtly homosexual part of this series so far. The look he had on is face is the same as you'd expect to see in Fushigi Yugi when Miaka pouts over Tamahome. Except here it's...bah, enough of that.
