As the Argama
flies over the ocean, Bright contacts Hayato despite the Minovsky
particle interference. Hayato says they have to go back to Dublin because
the Neo Zeon have stolen a colony from Side 4 and plan to drop it
on Dublin. Judau goes down to the infirmary and sees Kamille lashing
out in pain. At a Neo Zeon castle, Rakan reads a letter from Haman
saying that the colony is to be dropped to demonstrate their power
to the Federation. She wants to shock them and prevent them from
resisting her will. Hayato comes aboard the Argama and tells
Bright that Amuro has gone into space to fight. As they discuss
the situation, Bright takes Hayato to Katz's battered old room.
Hayato looks at one of Katz's family pictures with Kikka, Letz and
Fraw. Bright thinks that if he'd tried harder Katz might have lived, and he tells Hayato that Kamille can tell him about what happened when Katz died. Hayato wants
to see Kamille, but when Bright calls the infirmary only Ple is
there. Bright and Hayato find Kamille sitting in the Neo Core Fighter
with everyone around him. Judau says that Kamille and Fa should be dropped off at Glasgow, Scotland, and Hayato says they can't slow down. Judau says it isn't
the job of AEUG and Karaba to stop the colony, but Hayato counters
that it is their job because the Federation refuses to stop the
colony. He says the Federation wants less people on Earth, and Judau
thinks Hayato should understand from when he was on the White
Base. Kamille tries to run away and is tackled by Beecha. Hayato
looks at Kamille and thinks of Katz, so he changes his mind and offers to let Fa use his hovercraft to fly to Glasgow. Before
Kamille leaves, he is about to say something to Judau and projects
Newtype images of Ple. Rakan launches in his new Zaku III and is
accompanied by several Dreissens in an attack on Dublin. A TV helicopter news crew reports that the Federation continues to deny the impending colony drop, and the helicopter is destroyed by the Dreissens. Rakan blows
up a bridge to make escape impossible and ensure that more people are killed by the colony.
Judau visits
Ple in the infirmary and tells her that he can see Kamille's heart,
and she says that Kamille's heart must be filled with sadness. With
only four hours left before the colony drop, the Argama and
Audhumla begin the evacuation of Dublin. Judau launches in
the Neo Core Fighter, followed by Elle in the Core Top and Iino
in the Core Base. Hayato launches in a Dodai Kai and is joined by
other Dodai Kais carrying containers to evacuate people. The Dreissens
begin shooting at the airport, and Roux chases them with the Zeta
Gundam. At the Glasgow airport, Fa tries to use the airplane tickets she purchased, but she's told that Dublin flights have priority. Several men
push her aside and talk to each other about how the war could've ended sooner if they'd given Side 3 to Haman. They figure things are fine because the
colony drop will help reduce the population. Rakan destroys a hospital
ship, and Kamille runs away and says the sky is falling. Roux, Beecha
and Mondo continue to chase the Dreissens, and Judau attacks another
one near the airport. Rakan and his other men fly to the airport
to destroy it and the Audhumla. With less than an hour left
before the drop, the evacuation continues. Rakan tries to prevent
Judau from docking, and Hayato attacks Rakan from behind with his
Dodai Kai. Rakan shoots Hayato, and Judau is able to dock and form
Double Zeta. Hayato hears Katz's voice as the Dodai Kai explodes.
Judau goes berserk and destroys some Dreissens. Judau wants to destroy
Rakan, and Rakan sneak attacks him from the water. As they fight,
the colony slams into Dublin and destroys the city with a huge shockwave.
Judau and Rakan are knocked away in the blast, and Kamille collapses
on the ground.
This was
quite a suspenseful episode. Kamille is definitely back, but it
doesn't look like he's going to be a pilot again. That's a shame,
because it would have been good to see him rejoin the fight, even
so late in the series. We get to see Hayato again, and he ends up
sacrificing himself to help out Judau. There was a nice bit of continuity
early in the episode when Bright took Hayato to see Katz's room.
It's a real shame that Hayato is gone, because it leaves Fraw a
widow to raise their child and Kikka and Letz alone. Rakan is quite
an evil man here, as he kills Hayato and destroys what is clearly
marked as a hospital ship. However, as amoral as he is, the Federation
is as bad or worse. They refuse to stop the colony drop because
they want it to wipe out Dublin and reduce the Earth's population
so that they can have the planet to themselves. It looks like things
are definitely in Haman's favor at the moment.
