Today's update is short and sweet: a review for episode 15 of Iron-Blooded Orphans.

01.16.16 - The promise of Earth by Chris 11:13 A.M.

It's been a long time coming, but with this update I've finally caught up to Iron-Blooded Orphans, so check out my reviews for episodes 12-14.

This update dips back into the Macross well, so check out my review for the OVA Macross FB7.

01.04.16 - New year's orphans by Chris 8:47 A.M.

Since there was no new episode of Iron-Blooded Orphans this week, it's an ideal time to start catching up, so there are now reviews for episodes 10-11.

01.01.16 - A new song on the battlefield by Chris 11:44 P.M.

It's time to get 2016 updates going with a running start, so I'm kicking off with a review for the special preview of Macross Delta episode 1. The mecha section has also been created, and both areas will be updated once the regular broadcast begins in the spring.

12.31.15 - Curtain call for 2015 by Chris 8:14 A.M.

2015 has come to an end, at least as far as MAHQ is concerned. Today's update marks the end of the year with Peter's reviews for episodes 14-16 of Fafner exodus. There's also a large lineart update for Iron-Blooded Orphans, courtesy of balofo and Deacon Blues, plus updates for G-Laboratory.

In separate news, Chaos Theater has finally hit the milestone of 100 episodes, so check out the latest one with a year in review discussion. There will be plenty of updates on all fronts in 2016.

12.27.15 - Thunderstruck by Chris 8:54 P.M.

Reviews for Iron-Blooded Orphans have fallen behind, and unfortunately this update doesn't fix that. However, there is a review for episode 1 of Gundam Thunderbolt.

12.17.15 - Artesia's Sorrow by Chris 8:59 A.M.

Today's update switches gears a bit by returning to Gundam: The Origin with a review for episode 2 of the anime adaptation.

12.03.15 - Sakazuki by Chris 11:55 P.M.

It's that time of the week again, but this update is a bit less involved than last time. A review is now up for episode 9 of Iron-Blooded Orphans.

There are several items in today's update, starting with a review for episode 8 of Iron-Blooded Orphans. On that subject, Thunderbolt now has its own anime and mecha sections in advance of its debut next month.

Well, I managed to fall behind again on Iron-Blooded Orphans, but today's update is about catching up with reviews for episodes 6-7.

11.04.15 - Beyond the Red Sky by Chris 10:21 A.M.

The time has come to leave Mars behind in Iron-Blooded Orphans, and you can read more about it in my review for episode 5.

10.28.15 - Gundams and Gundam by Chris 8:43 A.M.

It's all Gundam in today's update, but that obviously shouldn't surprise anyone. First up is a review for episode 4 of Iron-Blooded Orphans. The news has just hit about Gundam Thunderbolt getting an anime adaptation, so we'll be covering that as information is released. Finally, the following profiles are now in Burke's All the World's Mobile Weapons format, with thanks once again to E08:

10.24.15 - Glorious Demise by Chris 10:02 A.M.

I had predicted before that I would fall behind in reviewing Iron-Blooded Orphans, and it happened sooner than I expected. However, my review for episode 3 is now up.

10.23.15 - Armed interventions by Chris 7:35 P.M.

I'd meant to have a review for episode 3 of Iron-Blooded Orphans done by now, but I got distracted by a new project. Contributor E08 spent time exhaustively compiling information about mobile suits from the Gundam 00 world, including the anime and multimedia side stories. As a result, every series under the 00 umbrella will finally have profiles upgrades to Burke's All the World's Mobile Weapons format, starting with this initial batch of 12. This is a long-term project, but I expect to do regular updates in small chunks. Check out these profiles:

GN-000 0 Gundam
GN-001 Gundam Exia
GN-001RE Gundam Exia Repair
GN-001REII Gundam Exia Repair II

10.07.15 - Return of the Meisters by Chris 10:26 A.M.

Even though there's a new Gundam show on air, today's update digs into the archives of an older one. See my review for part 1 of the Gundam 00 Special Edition.

10.05.15 - Bloody orphans by Chris 9:48 A.M.

It's early October, so that means it's time for a new Gundam series. You can read more about Iron-Blooded Orphans in my review for episode 1.

You can check out new profiles for Iron-Blooded Orphans, which begins broadcast in just over a week from now. Second, there's new lineart for the Black Mack from G-Laboratory, courtesy of Kuruni.

This update adds two new sections to the MAHQ roster. First, Brian tackles a new series with reviews for episodes 1-5 of Star Driver: Takuto of the Radiance. Next, there's a mecha section for Panzer World Galient, with lineart and translations courtesy of Ollie Barder at Mecha Damashii and Forbes.

09.01.15 - Review time by Chris 8:10 P.M.

It's time for some reviews, which is something we haven't done here in a while. First, my apologies to Peter for taking months to post his review for episode 13 of Fafner Exodus. Next, Arshad has reviews for episodes 6-10 of Da Garn.

08.23.15 - The Rise of Biscuit by Chris 9:45 A.M.

Today's updates are rather minor compared to the recent streak of new sections. First, there's new profiles for Iron-Blooded Orphans. Next, there's a new profile in G-Laboratory with lineart courtesy of balofo.

08.06.15 - New Sections 4: The Quest for Peace by Chris 10:25 P.M.

You know the drill at this point with this series of updates. First up, there are new sections for Gundam MS Graphica and Operation Troy, with info and lineart courtesy of Henning and bilbros. Next up is a new section for Gundam The Origin MSD. Finally, there's a large update for both Gundam Wing and The Glory of Losers, which new Maganac Corps lineart courtesy of AmuroNT1 and Kuruni. As a housekeeping note, the Endless Waltz versions of the Gundams have been merged into the profiles of their TV versions.

08.04.15 - New Sections 3: Sharknado by Chris 9:05 A.M.

You can expect more of the same with today's update, starting with new profiles for Crossbone Gundam: Ghost. Next up are new sections for the manga We're Federation Hooligans!! and the games G Generation 3D, G Generation World and G Generation Over World.

07.26.15 - New Sections by Chris 7:36 P.M.

Several new mecha sections are on top for today's update, starting with the manga series Gundam Thunderbolt and Ultra-Class! G Gundam. Next are two sections for the short CG films Gundam UC: One of Seventy Two and Gundam Reconguista: From the Past to the Future. The latter section is mainly just moving out a profile that was originally in the TV section.

07.15.15 - Enter the Orphans by Chris 9:37 A.M.

It's that time of summer again, which means a new Gundam series has been announced. Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans premieres this October in Japan, and you can be sure MAHQ will be covering the show. Anime and mecha sections have already been set up, so watch this space for more updates in the future.

07.07.15 - Laboratory's Rising Shadow by Chris 9:12 A.M.

Mecha updates are today's flavor, starting with new sections for G-Laboratory, Blazing Shadow and Rising Sun. There are also large updates for DESTINY ASTRAY B and DESTINY ASTRAY R, plus new lineart for G Generation Spirits and G Generation DS, courtesy of Kuruni and balofo. Finally, there's a large scale spec/name correction update for most of the UC-based MSV sections with information courtesy of Mark Simmons' MS Catalog.

06.26.15 - Try No More by Chris 8:51 A.M.

It's taken me longer than I expected to, but today's update finally wraps up Gundam Build Fighters Try with reviews for episodes 23-25. Also, the series has been added to the Review Averages page.

06.17.15 - Lineart Attack II: Electric Boogaloo by Chris 9:37 A.M.

There's more lineart in today's update, but not quite as much as last time. First, there's some new 00 movie vehicle stuff, courtesy of Zeis. He also sent in a large amount of weapons lineart for most of the original units in Build Fighters. Keeping with that Gunpla theme, there is also an update for Build Fighters Amazing, featuring new lineart and profiles.

A large lineart update is on deck today featuring new vehicle, weapon, ship and mobile suit lineart from Kuruni and Zeis. 05.18.15 - Let's Try On by Chris 11:56 P.M.

It's been a pretty quiet month around here as other priorities have taken up my time. However, it's catch up time in this update with reviews for episodes 20-22 of Build Fighters Try.

04.28.15 - Casval's eyes by Chris 11:06 P.M.

A different sort of Gundam is the focus of today's update with the review for episode 1 of The Origin's OVA adaptation.

04.04.15 - The Meijin Cup by Chris 9:25 A.M.

Gundam Build Fighters Try has come to an end, but there are still updates to be made. Today's mecha update includes suits from the end of the series, plus some new customs with lineart courtesy of Strike Zero.

04.01.15 - The Fifteen Faces of MAHQ by Chris 8:50 P.M.

Yes, it's that time of year again: April 1. On this particular day, it means that MAHQ is officially 15 years old. I've stopped mentioning in these annual updates how the site's continued longevity surprises me, but it's worth making note of this time. Fifteen years is a very long time, and mecha fandom has changed so much as great sites have come and gone. It hasn't been easy to keep this site running for all these years, but ultimately, it's been worthwhile. What started as just one small fan site grew to include an IRC channel, Mecha Talk, three podcasts and a Facebook group. So, as always, I'd like to thank the visitors and contributors who make MAHQ possible. Special recognition goes out to MAHQ's frequent mecha contributors, including Kuruni, balofo, Strike Zero, bilbros, Henning and E08.

It's also customary to have a special update to mark the occasion, and this year is no different. So here's what's new:

-Peter has reviews for episodes 11-12 of Fafner Exodus.

-Arshad returns to the Brave world with reviews for episodes 1-5 of Legendary Brave Da-Garn.

-Brian pops in with reviews for episodes 1-6 of FLCL, which covers the entirety of that series.

I don't have any announcements to make at this time regarding other new sections, but you can expect to hear some later in the year.

03.30.15 - The Reconguista ends by Chris 11:41 P.M.

Another series comes to a close with my reviews for episodes 25-26 of Gundam Reconguista. There are also some minor updates to the mecha section. With this series out of the way, it's time to catch up on Build Fighters Try and The Origin OVA.

03.25.15 - Tree of life by Chris 9:45 A.M.

Today's update is along the same lines as last time, so check out reviews for episodes 22-24 of Gundam Reconguista.

03.19.15 - A sea in space by Chris 9:01 A.M.

I'm getting closer to catching up on Gundam Reconguista, so you can read more in today's reviews for episodes 19-21.

03.18.15 - Festum festival by Chris 7:15 P.M.

Today's update focuses on another currently airing mecha series, as Peter chimes in with reviews for episodes 7-10 of Fafner Exodus.

03.13.15 - Lineart bonanza by Chris 11:04 P.M.

There are many small updates today in different mecha sections, so I'll get right to things. First up, Strike Zero has custom lineart for nearly everything that has shown up in the second half of Build Fighters Try. Next, Kuruni has new lineart for Gundam Unicorn, Fukuchi Mobile Suit Station, MSV-R, Gundam Fix Figuration, Encounters in Space, Hathaway's Flash and the G Gundam manga. Dark Duel has new lineart for Z-MSV's Gundam Mark III.

03.12.15 - Secret siblings by Chris 8:40 A.M.

The slow work of catching up on Gundam Reconguista continues today with reviews for episodes 15-18. Although this is still behind the broadcast run, at least it's not as far behind as before. I also want to make note of Right Stuf's recent listing for the first DVD box set of Turn A Gundam. It's rare to see a release come back from the dead after being canceled, so this second chance shouldn't be passed up. The lack of an English dub or no Blu-ray version might dissuade some buyers, but at this point they're immaterial concerns. Folks, this is crunch time for Gundam in Western fandom. If these releases don't sell, there isn't going to be a third chance down the line to buy things. If you really claim to support something, you have to do so when that support can actually have an impact.

02.21.15 - Fighter vs Fighter by Chris 12:12 P.M.

Catching up is the name of the game today, and I have reviews for episodes 16-19 of Build Fighters Try. The next mission will be slowly catching up on the backlog for Gundam Reconguista, but for now there's an update to the mecha section.

02.19.15 - A Trying Exodus by Chris 8:36 A.M.

Two different types of updates are on the docket for today. First, Peter serves up reviews for episodes 4-6 of Fafner: Exodus. Next, the mecha section for Build Fighters Try has been updated to include the most recent units.

02.14.15 - A Gundam Valentine by Chris 8:42 P.M.

Updates have fallen behind on the two current Gundam shows, but today's serves to decrease the backlog a bit. New profiles are up for Reconguista, and more is on the way soon for Try.

01.28.15 - Conversations with Festum by Chris 5:46 P.M.

Peter has another review for the currently airing Fafner: Exodus, this time covering episode 3.

01.22.15 - The new flame by Chris 4:09 P.M.

It's back to Build Fighters Try with this update, which includes reviews for episodes 13-15. The show's mecha section has also been updated, as has the mecha section for The Origin anime.

01.21.15 - The exodus commences by Chris 1:29 P.M.

The winter broadcast season has started in Japan, so that means a new series is joining the MAHQ roster. Peter returns to cover the Fafner TV sequel Exodus and has reviews for episodes 1-2.

01.07.15 - New Year's explosion by Chris 12:32 P.M.

MAHQ starts off 2015 by ending something. This may sound contradictory, but it's not. Brian has new reviews for episodes 14-23 of Zambot 3, which completes the section. Watch for more from him in the near future.
