Some technical difficulties prevented me from making earlier updates, but things are back on track now. You can check out new profiles for Iron-Blooded Orphans, which begins broadcast in just over a week from now. Second, there's new lineart for the Black Mack from G-Laboratory, courtesy of Kuruni.
It's time for some reviews, which is something we haven't done here in a while. First, my apologies to Peter for taking months to post his review for episode 13 of Fafner Exodus. Next, Arshad has reviews for episodes 6-10 of Da Garn.
Today's updates are rather minor compared to the recent streak of new sections. First, there's new profiles for Iron-Blooded Orphans. Next, there's a new profile in G-Laboratory with lineart courtesy of balofo.
08.06.15 - New Sections 4: The Quest for Peace by Chris 10:25 P.M.
You know the drill at this point with this series of updates. First up, there are new sections for Gundam MS Graphica and Operation Troy, with info and lineart courtesy of Henning and bilbros. Next up is a new section for Gundam The Origin MSD. Finally, there's a large update for both Gundam Wing and The Glory of Losers, which new Maganac Corps lineart courtesy of AmuroNT1 and Kuruni. As a housekeeping note, the Endless Waltz versions of the Gundams have been merged into the profiles of their TV versions.
08.04.15 - New Sections 3: Sharknado by Chris 9:05 A.M.
It's that time of summer again, which means a new Gundam series has been announced. Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans premieres this October in Japan, and you can be sure MAHQ will be covering the show. Anime and mecha sections have already been set up, so watch this space for more updates in the future.
07.07.15 - Laboratory's Rising Shadow by Chris 9:12 A.M.
It's taken me longer than I expected to, but today's update finally wraps up Gundam Build Fighters Try with reviews for episodes 23-25. Also, the series has been added to the Review Averages page.
06.17.15 - Lineart Attack II: Electric Boogaloo by Chris 9:37 A.M.
There's more lineart in today's update, but not quite as much as last time. First, there's some new 00 movie vehicle stuff, courtesy of Zeis. He also sent in a large amount of weapons lineart for most of the original units in Build Fighters. Keeping with that Gunpla theme, there is also an update for Build Fighters Amazing, featuring new lineart and profiles.
Gundam Build Fighters Try has come to an end, but there are still updates to be made. Today's mecha update includes suits from the end of the series, plus some new customs with lineart courtesy of Strike Zero.
04.01.15 - The Fifteen Faces of MAHQ by Chris 8:50 P.M.
Yes, it's that time of year again: April 1. On this particular day, it means that MAHQ is officially 15 years old. I've stopped mentioning in these annual updates how the site's continued longevity surprises me, but it's worth making note of this time. Fifteen years is a very long time, and mecha fandom has changed so much as great sites have come and gone. It hasn't been easy to keep this site running for all these years, but ultimately, it's been worthwhile. What started as just one small fan site grew to include an IRC channel, Mecha Talk, three podcasts and a Facebook group. So, as always, I'd like to thank the visitors and contributors who make MAHQ possible. Special recognition goes out to MAHQ's frequent mecha contributors, including Kuruni, balofo, Strike Zero, bilbros, Henning and E08.
It's also customary to have a special update to mark the occasion, and this year is no different. So here's what's new:
-Arshad returns to the Brave world with reviews for episodes 1-5 of Legendary Brave Da-Garn.
-Brian pops in with reviews for episodes 1-6 of FLCL, which covers the entirety of that series.
I don't have any announcements to make at this time regarding other new sections, but you can expect to hear some later in the year.
03.30.15 - The Reconguista ends by Chris 11:41 P.M.
Another series comes to a close with my reviews for episodes 25-26 of Gundam Reconguista. There are also some minor updates to the mecha section. With this series out of the way, it's time to catch up on Build Fighters Try and The Origin OVA.
The slow work of catching up on Gundam Reconguista continues today with reviews for episodes 15-18. Although this is still behind the broadcast run, at least it's not as far behind as before. I also want to make note of Right Stuf's recent listing for the first DVD box set of Turn A Gundam. It's rare to see a release come back from the dead after being canceled, so this second chance shouldn't be passed up. The lack of an English dub or no Blu-ray version might dissuade some buyers, but at this point they're immaterial concerns. Folks, this is crunch time for Gundam in Western fandom. If these releases don't sell, there isn't going to be a third chance down the line to buy things. If you really claim to support something, you have to do so when that support can actually have an impact.
Catching up is the name of the game today, and I have reviews for episodes 16-19 of Build Fighters Try. The next mission will be slowly catching up on the backlog for Gundam Reconguista, but for now there's an update to the mecha section.
Two different types of updates are on the docket for today. First, Peter serves up reviews for episodes 4-6 of Fafner: Exodus. Next, the mecha section for Build Fighters Try has been updated to include the most recent units.
It's back to Build Fighters Try with this update, which includes reviews for episodes 13-15. The show's mecha section has also been updated, as has the mecha section for The Origin anime.
01.21.15 - The exodus commences by Chris 1:29 P.M.
The winter broadcast season has started in Japan, so that means a new series is joining the MAHQ roster. Peter returns to cover the Fafner TV sequel Exodus and has reviews for episodes 1-2.
01.07.15 - New Year's explosion by Chris 12:32 P.M.
MAHQ starts off 2015 by ending something. This may sound contradictory, but it's not. Brian has new reviews for episodes 14-23 of Zambot 3, which completes the section. Watch for more from him in the near future.
