Summary

Sarah shows the rest of the team a pet that she bought and decides to name Molly. Everyone then starts talking about upgrades to the Force Nest, and Momo brings up idea: buy an island as their new Force Nest. Koichi shows them a message from Racula, the island’s owner, where he states that instead of a regular sale, he’ll give the island to whoever wins a battle. Later, Koichi informs everyone that the battle format has been set as Capture the Flag. For this battle, all Gunpla have a life meter, and after it’s depleted, they can respawn following a one minute cooldown. Ayame notes that such a rule could impact their tactics. Everyone works on their Gunpla and creating a battle plan for the event. In GBN, the Build Divers visit the island and are greeted by Racula, who recognizes them from the Coalition of Volunteers. Magee arrives to cheer them on, and Ayame is surprised to hear that their opponent is Chat Noir Neo. She’s then greeted by Hero, Kozy, and Su and explains that they’re her former teammates. Hero apologizes for quitting the team earlier, but she’s happy they can meet again in GBN. Kozy and Su explain that they’re just observing this battle, and that the team is made up of Hero and several other younger players who aren’t impressed by the Build Divers. The team introduces themselves as Lip, Shu, Ron and the masked Miyu. Hero vows that they won’t lose, and Ayame answers that the Build Divers won’t lose either. Hero then launches in the Shock Gundam, followed by Shu in the SG Gundam, Lip in the SG Sazabi, Ron in the SG Nu Gundam and Miyu in the SG Char’s Zaku. Riku calls Ayame, and she tells him that the Build Divers are now her precious teammates. The Build Divers then launch in their Gunpla and fly off.

The Build Divers split up, with Riku and Ayame as the vanguard, Momo in the water for ambush attacks, Yukki sniping and Kochi defending their flag. Riku comes under attack in the forest, and Miyu breaks past him. Yukki then tries to snipe Shu and misses, while Ayame comes under attack by Hero. Magee and Sarah watch the battle with Racula, Kozy and Su. Magee thinks Chat Noir Neo is pretty good, and Kozy comments that their all-SD team is as light as possible without compromising armor strength, which improves their agility. Racula explains that he looked at the battle records of both forces and wanted to see a match between the high firepower of the Build Divers and the high mobility of Chat Noir Neo. Ayame uses a ninjutsu technique on Hero, tricking him into slicing into a bomb and resulting in a respawn. Ron and Lip then attack Ayame, who realizes that she can’t take on two enemies at once. Momo emerges from the water and lands on a minefield, resulting in a respawn. Shu reports to Hero that he and Yukki took each other out, but he learned the location of the Build Divers flag and sends it along. Riku finds the enemy flag and comes under attack from Miyu, Hero and Shu. Momo complains about not being able to do anything and is shot down the second she launches by Ron, who was camping nearby. Koichi then respawns and thanks Momo for saving him. The battle becomes chaotic as both sides start taking each other out and each unit waits to respawn. Eventually, all of the Build Divers defend their flag together from Chat Noir Neo. The SD Gundams then combine to form the larger Super Shock Gundam. The Super Shock Gundam then fires a rifle that combines the output of all five of their weapons, but Riku blocks the attack with the 00 Sky’s GN Field. He suffers damage in the process, and the Super Shock Gundam proves impervious to their attack. The next blast takes out Koichi and Yukki, and Momo wants to use their secret training. Ayame docks with the Armed Armor Hattori to create the RX-Zeromaru’s real form, which generates a Psycho-Field to block the attack. Riku then activates Trans-Arm Infinity and kicks Momo’s cockpit pod at high speed into the Super Shock Gundam, taking out all five units. Riku and Ayame then rush toward the flag and are chased by the enemy after they respawn. Momo, having been sent flying into the forest, quietly grabs the enemy flag and ends the battle. Ayame tells Hero that her teammates are pretty good too. Racula transfers the island to the Build Divers. Lip gets Miyu to remove her mask and explains that she’s a fan of the Build Divers. Lip wonders how they can meet outside of battle events, and Magee suggests an alliance, which allows forces to compete in friendlies and fight together in the season’s last event, the Raid Battle. Riku agrees to the idea, and Hero thanks Ayame for fighting them today. Elsewhere, a bird character watches as a glitch affects a cave on the island.

Commentary

The Build Divers win themselves a fancy island and Ayame has a blast from the past when she encounters former teammates from her old force. This episode’s battle takes the form of Capture the Flag, which will be instantly familiar to anyone who plays first person shooters. Some common FPS tactics are even on display in this episode, such as spawn camping. In the end, the battle comes down to Chat Noir Neo having the combining Super Shock Gundam as their ace, but it gets negated, and in the end, it doesn’t matter anyway since Momo casually grabs the flag without anyone noticing. Overall, not a particularly interesting episode.
