Setsuna F. Seiei’s GN-0000 00 Gundam was heavily damaged during the final battle against the Innovades in 2312. Celestial Being decided to create a new Gundam for him due to his evolution into the first true human Innovator, but in the short term, it was decided to repair the 00 Gundam. The suit was repaired into the GN-0000GNHW/7SG 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G. During this time, the GNR-010 0 Raiser was also under repair, but priority testing was assigned to the Seven Sword/G due to GN particle consumption issues. As the 00 Gundam’s two GN Drives were destroyed in battle, Celestial Being tested multiple power setups, including using a GN Drive with a GN Condenser, or a twin GN Condenser system. Under the former setup, use of the Trans-Am System was not possible, but with the latter, it could be used for 0.03 seconds. Because the use of condensers limited the consumption of GN particles, the Seven Sword/G emerged as a favorite due to its array of melee weapons. Eventually, Celestial Being’s research allowed it to recreate the Twin Drive System by using a pair of GN Condensers. As a result, the 00 Gundam could be deployed as either the Seven Sword/G or the GN-0000+GNR-010 00 Raiser. However, the Seven Sword/G was incapable of docking with the 0 Raiser, so the Twin Drive System control functions were placed in the newly developed GN Sword II Blaster. It was unknown how long the suit could use Trans-Am in a twin condenser setup.

The GN Sword II Blaster was based on the 00 Gundam’s GN Sword II, with a greater focus on its gun mode. Because of this, the weapon was not considered an eighth sword, and the name Seven Sword/G referred to seven swords and a gun. The GN Sword II Blaster was designed to take full advantage of Setsuna’s abilities as an Innovator, resulting in extremely high accuracy and a potentially infinitely expanding combat range. The GN Sword II Blaster’s power in Trans-Am was not fully known. During a test where Trans-Am was activated for 0.03 seconds, the GN Sword II Blaster managed to successfully hit a target about 1,000 km away. The GN Sword II Long was also used for ranged combat, but its primary function was still as a sword. Although the suit’s offensive and defensive capabilities were beyond expectations, there were some concerns about the negative effects that this high performance could have on the suit’s operation. The Seven Sword/G was never formally deployed on any mission, but it did encounter accidental combat during tests. This combat data contributed to the development of Setsuna’s new GNT-0000 00 Qan[T]. In addition, Setsuna, who had awakened as a true Innovator, now placed more focus on dialogue capability rather than combat capability. It was for this reason that during the ELS invasion in 2014, the 00 Gundam sortied as the GN-0000RE+GNR-010 00 Raiser Condenser Type and not the 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G.
