The Wings of Rean is an ONA series that streamed in Japan from 2005-2006 on the Bandai Channel. It is based on a novel of the same name from Dunbine creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. The series is directed and written by Tomino, with mechanical designs by Tamotsu Shinohara and Takumi Sakura, character designs by Masashi Kudo and a score by Yasuo Higuchi. The story focuses on Aesap Suzuki, a teenager who is one of several friends who get transported to Byston Well. There, they are recruited to fight for the Kingdom of Hojo by its ruler, Shinjiro Sakomizu, a Japanese World War II pilot who was also pulled into Byston Well. The series was released on home video in North America by Bandai Visual USA, but it is long out of print and has never been re-licensed.
