Macross Delta is a theatrical film series released in Japan from 2018-2021. It is a reimagining and continuation of the 2016 TV series of the same name. The main creative staff from the TV series returns, although Shoji Kawamori takes over as sole director. The first movie, Passionate Walkure, is a condensed retelling of the TV series that includes new animation. The second movie, Zettai LIVE!!!!!!, is a new story set in 2068. In 2022, Nozomi Entertainment announced a North American Blu-ray release for the movies, but no further information has surfaced following Nozomi’s acquisition by Crunchyroll. As of 2025, the movies are streaming in multiple countries on Disney+.
