Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin MSD Cucuruz Doan’s Island is a manga series released in Japan from 2016-2019. It is a tie-in to the Mobile Suit Discovery original variation series. Written and illustrated by Junji Ohno, it was serialized in Gundam Ace magazine. The story focuses on Cucuruz Doan, a former Zeon soldier who appeared in one episode of the original 1979 TV series Mobile Suit Gundam. It is not related to the 2022 film Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island, which features the same character. Kodansha USA has licensed the manga for a North American release in October 2024.
