Macross 7 Trash is a manga published from 1994-2001 in Japan. Written and illustrated by Haruhiko Mikimoto, the series was serialized in Shonen Ace magazine. It is a side story to the 1994 TV series Macross 7, although the war against the Varauta/Protodeviln only plays out in the background. Set in 2046, the story focuses on Shiba Midou, a young T-Crash athlete who is rumored across the fleet to be the illegitimate son of Captain Maximilian Jenius. In 2003, TOKYOPOP licensed the manga for a planned 2004 release in North America, but the project was later canceled without explanation.
