Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY R is a manga series released in Japan from 2002-2004. Written by Tomohiro Chiba and illustrated by Yasunari Toda, it is a side story TV series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. Set in C.E. 71, the story runs concurrently to the TV series and mostly focuses on Junk Guild scavenger Lowe Guele. The original Gundam SEED ASTRAY story was split across three publications, all written by Chiba: the ASTRAY manga in Gundam Ace magazine, the ASTRAY R manga in Shonen Ace magazine and the ASTRAY B photonovel in Dengeki Hobby magazine. The ASTRAY R manga was published in English in North America by TOKYOPOP, but is out of print.
