Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is a TV series that aired in Japan across two seasons from 2006-2008. Directed by Goro Taniguchi, its creative staff includes writer Ichiro Okouchi, mechanical designer Akira Yasuda, character designs by CLAMP and Takahiro Kimura, and a score by Hitomi Kuroishi and Kotaro Nakagawa. The series is set in an alternate Earth where the Holy Britannia Empire has conquered many overseas territories, including Japan. Student Lelouch Lamperouge, secretly a Britannian prince, gains the mysterious power of Geass and ignites a revolution in Japan against the Empire. Over a decade after its initial broadcast, the TV series was edited into a trilogy of compilation films that were followed by a sequel film, Lelouch of the Re;surrection. The series aired on Adult Swim and was initially released on home video by Bandai Entertainment, but it has since been re-released by Crunchyroll.
