The third part of the Death Gale Team, the EMS-VSX3 Totuga is built for the purpose of defense. Originally intended for a long-range fire support role, the Totuga is redesigned to give it the strongest defense possible. To that end, it's given incredibly thick armor capable of withstanding most attacks. Its large generator allows it to power a beam shield strong enough to withstand the main mega particle cannon of a capital ship. The Totuga's main weapons are a pair of hammer hands, large bludgeoning weapons similar in concept to the RX-78-2 Gundam's Gundam hammer, but permanently attached to its arms. The large spikes on its back, which generate the beam shield, can double as beam guns. The most unusual part of the Totuga's arsenal, however, is the set of fast-hardening gas dispensers on its back. This substance quickly transforms into a semisolid adhesive, trapping any mobile suit that gets within its range. The Totuga is assigned to ace pilot Barnes Gernsback, who plays the defensive role on the Death Gale Team, drawing fire to distract the enemy. The Totuga is finally destroyed on Earth by Tobia Arronax, who gets around its incredible armor by stabbing its shoulder joint with a beam saber, then punching the still-ignited blade all the way through the Totuga's body.
