Technical and Historical Notes

The Sodon was a small space tugboat roughly the same size of a mobile suit, used primarily to resupply mobile suits units with fuel and ammunition. The Sodon had enough thrust to tow three MS-06F Zaku II type mobile suits, but was very limited in range, despite the large round fuel tanks mounted to the rear of the vessel. The Sodon was also often used as a booster for mobile suits to extend their operating range, a forerunner to later subflight systems such as the Flying Armor and Base Jabber of the Gryps Conflict. Hoever, the Sodon was soon rendered obsolete by advances in mobile suit technology and the upgrading of mobile suits with external fuel tanks.
