Technical and Historical Notes

The FA-78-1B Full Armor Gundam Type B is a revision of the earlier FA-78-1 Full Armor Gundam. The Type B uses the same Full Strike Weapon System (or "FSWS") that adds extra weapons and armor to the base mobile suit to boost its performance. The Type B is designed for mid-range bombardment and is capable of breaking past a mobile suit defense line and ships to destroy an enemy flagship. The Type B features a long-distance optics observation system built into its backpack. The Type B has a higher output generator to power its main weapon, a triple beam rifle. The Type B is also armed with vulcan guns, two beam sabers, a large missile launcher on its left shoulder, a rocket launcher on its right shoulder and multiple missile launchers in the shoulder and knee armor. In UC 0089, the Earth Federation Forces declassify some information relating to Operation V suits, including the Type B. In the following year, the Federation Survey Service conducts a computer simulated battle using the design of the Type B.
