Technical and Historical Notes

The AEUG's FXA-07GB Neo Core Fighter was an evolution in the Core Block system employed by mobile suits such as the RX-78-2 Gundam and the RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes." Like its predecessors, the agile Neo Core Fighter served the dual purpose of functioning as a fighter plane/escape unit as well as serving as the cockpit of the MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam. To form the powerful ZZ Gundam, the Neo Core Fighter had to dock with the Core Top and Core Base. Like most other Core Fighters, it was not equipped with enough weapons to fight very well on its own. However, the Neo Core Fighter could dock with either the Core Top or Core Base separately to increase its firepower.
