Technical and Historical Notes

The BN-876 Scramble Gundam was a prototype Gunpla developed by Yajima Trading to test a new Gunpla Battle system that used the Plavsky particle Mk-II. It was based on the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam from the 1985-86 anime TV series Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. In utilizing the new Plavsky particle, the Scramble Gundam’s performance exceeded that of any Gunpla in the old battle system. Clear parts mounted throughout its body could control the new particles and generate a defensive field. The Scramble Gundam’s armaments included vulcan guns, beam sabers and beam rifles. A test at a Yajima Trading island facility caused a Plavsky crystal to go out of control, with the Scramble Gundam also going out of control and moving on its own outside the Gunpla Battle system. After several Gunpla fighters fought their way through the facility and faced the Scramble Gundam, they discovered that the disruptions were caused by a mysterious girl from the world of Arian. Later, Meijin Kawaguchi the 3rd constructed a variant unit, the BN-876β Hot Scramble Gundam.
